Laser Engraving, UV Print, Embroidery and More: Choosing the Right Branding Method

Laser Engraving, UV Print, Embroidery and More: Choosing the Right Branding Method

The same logo can look very different depending on how it is applied. Choosing the right branding method makes your gift look better, last longer and fit your budget. Here is a plain guide to the methods we use most and where each one works best.

Laser engraving

A laser removes a thin layer of the surface to mark your logo permanently. The result is clean, precise and won't fade or peel.

  • Best for: metal bottles and flasks, metal pens, power banks, wireless chargers, crystal and acrylic awards.
  • Look: single tone, premium and understated.
  • Good to know: it shows one colour (the colour of the material underneath), so it suits simple, bold logos.

Examples: THERMORA Thermal Flask 710 ml, Cross Calais Satin Chrome Pen, Star Shaped Crystal Award.

UV printing

UV printing applies ink directly onto the product and cures it instantly with UV light. It can reproduce full-colour artwork, gradients and fine detail.

  • Best for: mugs, notebooks, gift boxes, lanyards, chargers and flat or gently curved surfaces.
  • Look: bright, full colour.
  • Good to know: ideal when your logo has several colours or you want a photo or pattern.

Examples: MILOS Coffee Mug 350 ml, Arabic Tradition Gift Set in Premium Gift Box.

Embroidery

Your logo is stitched into the fabric with thread. It adds texture and a high-quality feel that holds up to repeated washing.

  • Best for: caps, polo shirts, hoodies, jackets, backpacks and duffel bags.
  • Look: raised, textured and professional.
  • Good to know: very small text and fine gradients don't stitch well, so simplified logos work best.

Examples: NARVA Brushed Cotton Cap, DURHAM 15.6" Laptop Backpack, ARTIK Hoodie.

Screen printing

Ink is pushed through a mesh screen onto the product, one colour at a time. It gives strong, solid colour and is efficient for larger runs.

  • Best for: T-shirts, tote bags and other fabric items with a large print area.
  • Look: bold, vibrant colour.
  • Good to know: designs with fewer colours are usually more cost-effective.

Examples: SELECT 180 Roundneck T-shirt, ABLAR Recycled Cotton Tote Bag.

Debossing

Your logo is pressed into the material, leaving a sunken impression with no ink.

  • Best for: PU leather notebook covers, silicone wristbands and leather accessories.
  • Look: subtle, tactile and elegant.
  • Good to know: works best with clear shapes and medium-to-large logos.

Examples: WINDSOR A5 PU Notebook, Debossed Silicone Wristbands.
